comienzo.

so, a blog.
the theme is "situations i witness that make me think"
a pretty broad theme, but recently i found this website where people write about circumstances in their lives that are thought provoking: makesmethink.com. And you know what? it certainly made me think.

Anyways, today i was meeting with a professor of American Indian history to discuss an internship and i was sitting there in his huge leather rocking chair waiting for him to get back from another part of the building. he had shelves and shelves of books- probably in the arena of 500 books, a majority of them were about native americans. but the one i noticed was a copy of the quran and i thought "there is something here that is not like the other" and perched right next to the holy book of islam was the book of mormon on one side and a book about cattle herding on the other. First of all i loved how the quran and book of mormon were side by side, becuase i mean the two religions are sooo different, but also so similar [but i don't really want to get into that]. also, i literally laughed out loud because of the cattle book, totally ridiculous placement. whoever knew that looking at someone elses personal library would be so interesting?

now i want to go to a used bookstore.
the end.
